Cycling tour in the Southern ArdècheN° 1

Duration: 4 to 5h – Distance: 57 km – Elevation: 637 m – Difficulty level: Easy

This first bike ride is an accessible and pleasant route with minimal elevation gain, ideal for a relaxed start. The loop takes you past the most beautiful sights in the area. After leaving Arleblanc, you’ll reach the spectacular Gorges du Ruoms, with tunnels carved out of the rock. Then you’ll cycle through charming villages: the picturesque Ruoms, the typical Ardèche town of Les Vans, and finally, via the charming village of Joyeuse, back to the campsite.

This circuit, which starts directly from the campsite, is perfect for a relaxing half-day ride. The route takes you past a series of typical and charming regional sights. You’ll pass through picturesque spots like Rosières, Saint Alban-Auriolles, and Ruoms, culminating in the beautiful, historic village of Balazuc, before returning to Camping Arleblanc.

This is a pleasant and accessible route with minimal elevation gain, perfect for a leisurely day of touring. You’ll explore the plains around Laurac and the foothills of the Cévennes. The route takes you through beautiful, typical villages like Vinezac and Ailhon, before returning to the campsite via historic Largentière.

Cycling tour in the Cevennes – On the way to Lozère

Duration: 4 to 5h – Distance: 97 km – Elevation: 1438 m – Difficulty level: Difficult

This is the challenging highlightof your holiday, perfect for experienced cyclists. From Arleblanc, you’ll ride to Les Vans and follow the picturesque Chassezac Valley to Pied de Borne. The route continues to Villefort, where the big climb awaits: you’ll finish the ride with the challenging climb over the Col du Mas de l’Ayre, a fantastic reward for all your effort. The descent via Folcheran and back via Les Vans, Joyeuse, and Rosières brings you back to Arleblanc feeling satisfied.

Cycling tour – On the way to the Cevennes

Duration: 4 to 5h – Distance: 89 km – Elevation: 1216 m – Difficulty level: Difficult

This is the ultimate challenge for the most athletic cyclists! With a total elevation gain of an impressive 1,438 meters, gentle slopes are a thing of the past. The ride departs from Camping Arleblanc and heads towards Les Deux Aygues, after which the big climb begins to the iconic Col du Chap Del Bosc. The route takes you past Valgorge and Loubaresse, where you’ll enjoy spectacular views. The reward awaits on the return journey: via the beautiful Thines and Les Vans, you’ll cycle the final kilometers back to Camping Arleblanc with a satisfying feeling.

Route: Arleblanc – Rosières – Joyeuse – Les Deux Aygues – Valgorge – Loubaresse – Col du Chap Del Bosc – Thines – Gravières – Les Vans – Lablachère – Joyeuse – Rosières – Arleblanc.

Cycling tour in the Southern Ardèche – At the foot of the Cevennes

Duration: 4 to 5h – Distance: 81 km – Elevation: 1409 m – Difficulty level: Difficult

This is a challenging loop full of natural wonders. After following the Beaume-Drobie valley, you return to the foothills of the Cévennes to reach the Chassezac valley. The ultimate reward is crossing the magnificent Bois de Païolive, a forest of petrified rocks where you can spot statues of bears and lions at the entrance. The return route passes through the charming Bois de Bourbouillet.

You can extend this hike if you wish: just 10 km from the campsite, you can take the greenways that lead you to the most beautiful villages, such as Vogüé, Balazuc, and Ruoms, or even further into the Gard region, all the way to Vallon Pont d’Arc.
